The Freeze competition takes place at Sheffield Ski Village’s Fun Park on the late May Bank holiday weekend, 26th & 27th May.
The Freeze has taken place every year, for the last 7 years in Sheffield, attracting freestyle’s from all over the UK and Europe, riders who have featured over the years such as Dom Harrington, Andy Bennett, Mike Wakefield and Swiss international Anton Holland, to name a few.
This year the Freeze is very much about giving riders a chance to compete against the top level riders in the UK, with over 70 competitors taking part, from the youngest competitor Jono Talyor aged 8, up to old veterans like Mark Hartley aged 32.
Last years event sponsored by Red Stripe, was a fantastic susses with over 70 riders taking part.
Overall winners of the weekend were skiers, for the males James Woods and the females Kate Williams, well done to the Solomon team riders. The snowboarders were pushing the stakes, with Matt Gibson coming away with the win, Gemma Marshal and Holly Taylor were fighting it out for 1st place, and it was gemma that nailed it.
We anticipate a huge turnout this bank holiday weekend; we will be holding the Slopestyle competition on Saturday 26th and Big Air on Sunday 27th. Plus The Corona Mexican Party 8pm - 1am, at the Village Inn with guest singers and DJs. FREE entry to the coolest party in town.
