Shaun White gets signature skateboard model

Birdhouse Skateboards, home of Tony Hawk, today announced the release of two new signature decks to its pro skateboard line-up. The decks constitute Shaun White's first professional signature skateboards as the latest pro on the Birdhouse team.

Easily the most familiar face in snowboarding today, Shaun White earned a gold medal in the men's halfpipe at the 2006 Olympics, 11 X Games medals and has appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. He is the only snowboarder who has become a household name. Known not just for his snowboarding, in the 2005 and 2006 X Games, Shaun became the first and only skateboarder to attempt the nearly impossible 1080 on a vert ramp.

"I'm honored to have Shaun on the Birdhouse team," said Tony Hawk, professional skateboarder and co-founder of Birdhouse Skateboards. "His incredible skills on a skateboard are inspiring, and he has a great attitude towards following his passions."
