Australian Open & Stylewars 007 by Oakley on the horizon

With the TTR FIVE(5) STAR, Burton New Zealand Open in the complete, Tour action heats up as it crosses the Tasman for the completion of the Australian stops. Scotty Lago(USA) leads the Men’s charge heading to the next event, the TTR FOUR(4) STAR Garnier Fructis Australian Open at the snowboard Mecca of Perisher Blue Resort, NSW over the 22nd to 26th of August. Action is guaranteed to be hot as Mitch Brown(NZL) fresh off his Halfpipe title at the Burton New Zealand Open this week, will be joined by Mason Aguirre(USA), Kevin Pearce(USA), Chas Guldemond(USA), Torstein Horgmo(NOR), Louie Vito(USA) and Iouri Podladtchikov(RUS) join a plethora of international and local rippers going for the 750 TTR Ranking points on both the Halfpipe and Slopestyle formats. Reports that 06/07 World #2, Antti Autti(FIN) will be starting his 07/08 TTR World Snowboard Tour Title chase adds to the suspense as the Garnier Fructis Australian Open rolls into town.

The Woman’s contest promises to be equally as competitive as Kelly Cark(USA) who took the TTR Woman’s World Snowboard Tour lead following her 2nd place at the Burton New Zealand Halfpipe on Sunday. Defending 06/07 TTR Tour Champion, Torah Bright(AUS), kicked off her title defence with a 4th and 1st in the Burton New Zealand Open Slopestyle and Halfpipe contests, has moved into 07/08 TTR World #4 and within striking distance of Clark. Other serious contenders for prize money and valuable TTR points include Jenny Jones(GBR), Hana Beaman(USA), Ellery Hollingsworth(USA), Sina Candrian(SUI) and Manuela Pesko(SUI).

Hot on the heels of the Garnier Fructis Australian Open is the testing TTR THREE(3) STAR, Stylewars 007 presented by Oakley in Falls Creek, Victoria, over the 27th August to 2nd of September. Any concerns about the limitations of creativity possible within the TTR Tour are dispelled as Stylewars 007 presented by Oakley runs a non-stop week of shredding action. Employing a Teams format battled out in different sessions on different features – to top this result list you need to be able to ride it all. Riders hunt for team titles and individually battle it out for the 550 TTR Ranking Points up for grabs.
