Burton NZ Open goes live!

The Burton Global Open Series announces live internet streaming and real time scoring for the Burton NZ Open allowing snowboard enthusiasts around the world access to up-to-the-minute information and footage of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snowboard competition.

Live streaming of all the action in Snow Park NZ’s halfpipe and Slopestyle course is available at a number of sites around the world including www.snow.co.nz, www.tvnz.co.nz, transworldsnowboarding.com,

snowboardermag.com, method.tv and lat34.com

The event’s official web site, www.boarderzone.com/nzopen features live scoring, straight from the judges’ computer to the web site after approval from the head judge. The technology is provided by German information management company, EIM Solutions and it is the first time this technology has been used at an event in New Zealand.

“It’s amazing what technology can do,” said event organizer, Reuben Yeoman. “What this means is someone can be sitting at their desk in the USA, watching the event live and see how each run scores as it happens – they’ll know more than the riders themselves!”

The Burton NZ Open continues today with the men’s and women’s Slopestyle pre-qualifiers and qualifiers. Tomorrow (Friday) will feature the Slopestyle semi-finals and finals with the Quarterpipe Invitaiton Jam under floodlights in the evening.
