*Exclusive news from In The Know on MonthRag*
MonthRag and Thrilly, in partnership with the ATV and FBBB crews as well as Fear of the Park, will be hitting the UK snowboard scene with a brand new event named 'Battle of Britannia'.
For the last month, dicussions have been flying about in regard to wanting to create a unique snowboard competition to push the boundaries of what we can do in this country. Obviously it's not an easy task, but we believe that with the determination and big thinkers of our newly assembled team we will be able to establish something relatively untouched until now.
The aim for our comp is to really kick UK snowboarding up the rear, pushing it into dizzy heights and potentially gaining TTR (Ticket to Ride) status within a couple of years.
The location for the event at the moment looks likely to be Milton Keynes, with the ATV crew heading up the park design and construction. If things go to plan, the crew will be given a long 5-days building timescale to perfect their innovatively created park. The crew have sick ideas on making an unrivalled indoor set-up to attract big pro riders from the UK, and other competitors alike.
On the organisational side of things, Mike Chen from For Boarders By Boarders (FBBB) along with his Thirteen event partner, Rich Webb at Fear of the Park (FOTP), are heading up a plan to lay down the law, brushing other UK events aside. There'll be sick sponsors, sick prizes, and sick entertainment!
The marketing, design and promotion for the event is in the hands of Tom Lenartowicz at MonthRag/Thrilly, as well as Aly McMorland from ATV and Rich from FOTP, who'll be concentrating on the website, flyers, press releases and other forms of hype.
You're not gonna miss the hype leading up to this event, as we'll first be hitting MK with a pre-B.O.B. jam, at the moment set for 11 August. Then the forthcoming FBBB events and lastly next year's Thirteen event will all help in spreading the word of Battle of Britannia.
The event itself is set to be an annual summer comp, keeping the scene strong throughout the snowless season. Although details on dates are to be firmly arranged.
Battle of Britannia is a goer, so stick with MonthRag to find out more about each event leading up to BOB The Monster Event. Subscribe to the newletter to be the in the know first.
